Chapter 1: Who Is Warren Buffett?
Warren Buffettt was born on the 30
th
of August 1930 in Omaha, Nebraska. His father, Howard, was a stockbroker and a congressman, while his mother, Leila Stahl Buffettt, was a homemaker. Warren was the second of the three children born to their family, as well as the only boy born to them. Based on his DNA, his paternal ancestors come from northern Scandinavia, while his maternal ancestors come from Ibera or Estonia, which were somewhere in Spain.
Warren Buffett began his education in Omaha at Rose Hill Elementary School, after which his family moved to Washington, DC after his father was elected in the United States Congress. There he moved to Alice Deal Junior High School during the first half of his secondary education, and then transferred to Woodrow Wilson High School some time at the age of seventeen. There, his senior yearbook picture reads: “likes math; a future stockbroker”. To many of his friends, Warren was determined to become a business investor, as he displayed interest in financial matters, and how to save and make money over time.
